Frequently Asked Questions
-
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or not quite like yourself, therapy can be a helpful place to start. You don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need a willingness to explore what’s going on and consider support.
-
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to learn what to expect from therapy with me. I will ask for some background information in order to get to know you better, and I will also ask questions about what brings you in at this time in your life. While I will have to gather information about you, I want you to also use the first session to discuss your presenting issue/s and discuss your goal for therapy.

I use a variety of approaches depending on each client’s needs and presenting concerns. I integrate Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques. This allows our work together to be flexible, personalized, and responsive to what works best for you.

I have over 20 years of experience as both a teacher and social worker, supporting children, adolescents, and families across a wide range of settings. This background helps me understand developmental needs, family dynamics, and how to support both individuals and the systems around them.
